HOD Message
Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at SSIET,Ghogaon. We started Diploma in Civil & Environmental Engineering from 2022-23 with 60 intake capacity. Our aim to provide students with a perfect blend of intellectual and practical experiences that helps them to serve our society and address a variety of needs.
Civil Engineering is the broadest of the engineering fields essentially dealing with roads and highways, railways, bridges, tunnels, airport runways and terminal, all kinds of structures, water supply, sewerage systems, irrigation canals, dams, power plants, disaster management etc. It therefore focuses on planning, development, design, construction and maintenance of the entire physical infrastructure required for sustainability of the society.
This course provides the knowledge of fluid mechanics, building materials, surveying, building planning, structural analysis, engineering geology, concrete technology, environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Infrastructure in India is going to be developed at large scale and high pace in the next coming years.
Our Laboratories have been very well established not only to cover complete syllabus but to motivate students to learn beyond the syllabus which definitely develops complete knowledge of the subject (both the practical and theoretical).
