HOD Message
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Shri Santkrupa Institute of Engineering and Technology, Ghogaon. We started our journey in the year of 2017. Over the past six years, we have expanded our knowledge and skills in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum and research. We have a strong undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering. The sanctioned intake for B.Tech. Mechanical is 60 per year.
At present, there are 09 qualified and experienced teaching faculties, 02 technical supporting staff and 04 workshop staff working with us.
The under-graduate program provides you an excellent opportunity to learn fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering and undertake a high-quality basics as well as applied research in various domains of Mechanical Engineering. Our department offers choice-based Engineering curriculum. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical knowledge to students, promote their problem-solving skills and innovation of new Technologies. The department offers good number of elective courses for providing a wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. The course contents are updated by university for introducing new scientific and technological developments. The department has the modern infrastructure to undertake high-end teaching-learning and developmental activities in its 10 laboratories, besides highly experienced faculty. Our Laboratories are very well established not only to cover complete syllabus but to motivate students to learn beyond the syllabus which definitely develops complete knowledge of the subject (both the practical and theoretical depth of knowledge) and develop skill sets of students to become promising engineers in future. Along with this we have separate workshop facility having total 07 shops (Carpentry, Welding, Smithy, Fitting, Machine, Plumbing & Sheet-metal shop) within a department. It typically refers to a dedicated space equipped with tools, machinery (CNC, Lathe, Milling, Grinding & Drilling Machines) and resources for hands-on learning, practical training, and project work. In which there are workshop Instructors, to guide students in the proper use of equipment, provide expertise on the machinery, help troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety protocols are followed. We have digital classroom in our department which can contribute to increased accessibility, engagement, and efficiency in the teaching-learning process. It also prepares students for a technology-driven world by incorporating tools and skills relevant to the digital age.
Altogether the department has submitted many of sponsored projects. For the last 06 years our faculty has published over 20 technical papers in various International Journals.
Our department has an excellent record in both teaching and research in the Institute. Faculty members have good academic credentials and are highly motivated. The students work with various clubs like MESA, Green club and Innovation Ideas Club. They showcase their potential knowledge in the form of development of product like Double wishbone type Road vehicle skeleton, Electrical-Tri cycle, Mini 3D printer model etc. and organize the workshops/seminars/technical exhibitions etc.
